Team #4426 The Dinobots and

Team #4427 The Master Blasters

January 25, 2015 The FLL Brooklyn Qualifier

The Dinobots and Master Blasters did an outstanding job.

Dinobots scored 2nd Place in Table Performance and the Master Blasters scored 3rd Place in Table Performance

2013-2014 school year

The kids competed in the FLL Championship Tournament on April 5th 2014. The Master Blasters did PS94K proud as they were very competitive in the performance rounds placing 15th out 73 teams. They also did an outstanding job in the research presentation earning the 3rd place trophy for Presentation. It was a great robotics season and I am proud of all team members.

The Amazon Warriors are back to compete at the Brooklyn Qualifier

The Master Blasters had a very good day and earned first place in the robot performance. They will compete at the Javits Center in April.

The Amazon Warriors put up a good fight and got 5th place in robot performance. Unfortunately, 5th place did not qualify them for the finals at the Javits Center.

2012-2013 school year

Unfortunately, we are not able to compete this year but that does not mean we will not train. Many of our lead members graduated last year but our new members are getting ready for next year. Stay tuned and see our progress.

FLL Tournament

Jacob Javits Convention Center

What a fun and exciting day. The competition was fierce. The Master Blasters and the Amazon Warriors represented our school well and made us proud. Early in the day the placed as high as 4th in the robot performance competition but our positions were soon challenged by some excellent teams from all over our city. We remained in the top ten (as of the third round--fourth round scores were not posted due to technical difficulties).

However, we were unable to place high enough to earn a trophy.

The kids were a little disappointed but like all good champions we have experienced victory as well as defeat.

The important thing is we were brave enough to step into the field of battle and had fun doing so.

We look forward to next year.

It has certainly been a very challenging year for us. Since there was hardly any time for us to practice but, with our coach encouraging us we were able to qualify from Brooklyn and got to Championship Tournament in Manhattan. I don't think we would've ever been able to qualify if it wasn't for our coach, Mr.Pelaez. The team SALUTES you coach.

Brooklyn Qualifier

What a day! The Master Blasters and the Amazon Warriors had a great time. We started out the year late but thanks to the determination of our team members we did very well. The Master Blasters placed first on the table performance and the Amazon Warriors placed third. We must commend Master Blaster Syed for having spent so many of his lunch hours programming instead of hanging out in the cafeteria. Amazon Warrior Abigail and Master Blaster Karen also worked hard programming and researching food preservation and refrigeration. All team members practiced running the table as much as they could in a short time and came through with shining colors. We are extremely proud of them.

On a side note we'd like to thank The Lego Rockets from PS5 for their outstanding sportsmanship. In the middle of the competition the Amazon Warriors suffered technical problems when one of the robot's motors seized. The Lego Rockets loan us one of their motors which allowed us to stay in the game. Thank You Rockets!

We will also like to thank our coach Mr.Pelaez for encouraging us and cooperating with us

Thank You Coach!

Jacob Javits Center FLL Competition

The kids did very well at the Javits Center. The Amazon Warriors placed 4th in Robot Performance. They held onto 3rd place all morning but moved to fourth in the afternoon.

The Amazons also placed 4th in the Champions Award.

The Champions award is given to the teams that show proficiency in all aspects of the competition (table performance, technical, judges interview and research project).

The Master Blasters placed 4th in the Judges award (given by interviewing judges for teamwork).

Here's an interesting fact: the Master Blasters' highest score in the Table Performance had them lined up for the 5th place award.

Then their score was tied by another school and the judges had to look at the second highest score. It is there that they were slightly bested and placed 6th.

Polytech University FLL Brooklyn Qualifier

The Lego Amazon Warriors placed 1st in robot performance.

The Lego Master Blasters placed 2nd in robot performance.

The kids worked so hard to prepare, coming in early in the mornings and staying after school.

The hours of practice on the table paid off in the end.

Good job boys and girls.

We want to say thanks to Ms. Velazquez and Ms. Hernandez for helping at the event;

to all the parents as well as Ms. Howell for coming to Polytech in support of the teams.

Finally, we want to thank everyone at PS 94K for all their good wishes.

2009-2010 school year

PS94K competed at the FLL Jacob Javits Tournament and earned 3rd and 4th place in Robot Design.

The teams did well on the table performance and had a great time battling NYC's top team in the FLL Arena.

Good job Lego Bratz and Lego Scorpions.
